Senior Software Engineer, UI Tooling – Full Stack iOS

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead the technical strategy for AirChatUI, Airbnb’s AI Prototyping harness and native macOS application.

• Oversee the implementation and scaling of a system that generates internal product feature prototypes, tools, and data visualizations.

• Take ownership of the strategy and execution for the web prototyping experience.

• Manage native iOS prototyping capabilities and oversee iOS prototype app deployments.

• Develop AI skills and agents that support product feature prototyping, AirChat CLI, and AirChat Remote.

• Integrate AirChatUI with Kyber, Airbnb’s web-based prototyping and rapid deployment platform.

• Establish technical direction and make architectural choices for rapid prototype development systems.

• Design and create macOS and iOS features utilizing modern declarative UI and unidirectional state architecture.

• Contribute to the web-based prototyping functionality within Kyber.

• Write and review code both manually and in collaboration with AI coding agents.

• Ensure quality, availability, and system health across the entire platform.

• Collaborate with Infrastructure, Product, Security, and Design teams.

• Empower Product Managers, Designers, and other non-technical creators to build sophisticated product feature prototypes.

• Work alongside senior engineers to contribute to shared iOS patterns and established best practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5-9+ years of professional experience, preferably in fast-paced environments.

• Proven history of delivering features in large-scale consumer applications.

• Full-stack engineering expertise across backend, frontend, mobile, APIs, and system architecture.

• Proficiency in Swift and contemporary iOS architectural practices.

• Familiarity with declarative UI frameworks such as SwiftUI.

• Experience with unidirectional state management frameworks like MVI, MVVM, or Redux-style architecture.

• Knowledge of dependency injection techniques.

• Demonstrated experience in building customer-facing products from the ground up.

• Involvement in product definition, technical architecture, development, and launch processes.

• Understanding of mobile app performance, accessibility, and CI/release practices for large-scale consumer applications.

• Product-first engineering mindset.

• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

• Experience in driving initiatives across various teams, departments, and leadership levels.

• Bonus: Familiarity with modern web development tools, including TypeScript and React.

• Must reside in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity.
