Senior Software Engineer – Takeoff

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +5 more states.

📋 Description

• Continuously build, test, and deploy software, with daily or more frequent releases.

• Collaborate with PMs and Product Designers, actively participating in product and design evaluations.

• Develop and contribute to technical specifications along with testing and rollout strategies.

• Craft technical designs, engage in code reviews, and uphold high engineering standards.

• Partner with internal customers and stakeholders to effectively address the right challenges.

• Mentor and support teammates in their professional growth.

• Investigate production issues, enhance system reliability, and provide necessary service support.

• Take ownership of projects from inception to deployment.

• Work alongside engineers, product managers, designers, and accounting professionals to deliver safe, thoroughly tested, and easily understandable changes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience as a software engineer.

• Proficiency in Python or Vue (or other JavaScript frameworks) within a production environment.

• Strong foundational coding skills with the ability to produce clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.

• Good judgment regarding product and systems, particularly in uncertain or evolving problem areas.

• Excellent communication abilities and comfort in cross-functional collaboration.

• Proven effectiveness in a remote team setting, including strong asynchronous and written communication practices.

• Demonstrated capability to mentor and instruct others.

• Remote employment is restricted to the United States in CA, GA, NY, NC, TN, TX, and WA.

• Preferred: experience with Vue in a production setting.

• Preferred: familiarity with accounting systems, double-entry bookkeeping, or revenue recognition.

• Preferred: knowledge of agentic or AI-assisted systems in production scenarios.

• Preferred: experience with integrating third-party APIs and external systems.
