Senior Software Engineer – Quality & Automation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Design and develop software, frameworks, tools, and automation that enhance product quality and engineering efficiency.

• Create scalable automated testing solutions across APIs, services, integrations, user interfaces, distributed systems, and complete workflows.

• Construct and refine reusable automation frameworks and shared engineering capabilities.

• Collaborate with software engineers on architecture, design, and development to enhance testability, reliability, resilience, and maintainability.

• Establish technical strategies for test infrastructure, automated environments, test data, mocks, service virtualization, and dependency management.

• Incorporate automation into CI/CD pipelines for swift, dependable, and actionable feedback.

• Assess effective testing strategies across unit, component, contract, integration, API, and end-to-end layers.

• Identify gaps in coverage, reliability, tooling, and engineering processes, and devise sustainable solutions.

• Investigate complex defects, automation failures, and production issues; conduct root-cause analysis and prevent recurrence.

• Enhance performance, reliability, observability, scalability, and maintainability of automation and test infrastructure.

• Contribute to application and service code to boost testability, instrumentation, reliability, or system behavior.

• Collaborate on technical designs to tackle quality, resilience, observability, and operability early in the process.

• Lead technical discussions and shape engineering standards for automation, software quality, reliability, testing, and continuous delivery.

• Explore and implement AI-assisted engineering for test generation, intelligent automation, failure analysis, coverage analysis, defect detection, and productivity enhancement.

• Assess AI-enabled development and automation tools, frameworks, and methodologies.

• Mentor engineers and elevate automation, software quality, and engineering capabilities.

• Engage in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and promote collaboration.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive hands-on software engineering experience in designing and implementing automated testing solutions.

• Proficient programming skills in one or more languages such as JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, Python, or similar.

• Experience in designing, developing, and maintaining automation frameworks with tools like Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or equivalent.

• Strong background in testing APIs, backend services, integrations, data flows, and distributed systems.

• Familiarity with modern software architecture and comprehension of complex interactions across applications, services, infrastructure, and data layers.

• Solid understanding of unit, component, contract, integration, API, and end-to-end testing strategies.

• Experience integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines and contemporary software delivery workflows.

• Proficient in debugging complex systems and conducting root-cause analysis across application, service, data, infrastructure, and automation layers.

• Strong grasp of software design principles, maintainability, testability, observability, and engineering best practices.

• Experience with Git, GitHub, pull-request workflows, and modern software development methodologies.

• Background in contributing to engineering architecture, technical design, or platform-level decisions.

• Experience with AI-assisted development tools, AI frameworks, agents, or AI-enabled automation, or a strong interest in emerging AI-driven engineering techniques.

• Familiarity with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, MongoDB, MySQL, observability platforms, and DevOps practices is advantageous.

• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

• Experience mentoring engineers and enhancing technical practices within a team.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
