Network Automation Engineer – Python, DevOps

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with network engineers to create automation solutions aimed at minimizing manual tasks and reducing network incidents.

• Design and implement network automation solutions utilizing Python.

• Develop and maintain REST APIs using Python, Django, and the Django REST Framework.

• Create infrastructure-as-code solutions that include automated testing and thorough documentation.

• Integrate automated testing into build and deployment pipelines alongside QA teams.

• Construct, sustain, and enhance comprehensive CI/CD pipelines.

• Employ tools such as Jenkins, Ansible, Ansible Vault, Git, Kubernetes, and Docker.

• Generate Ansible Playbooks and assist in configuration management.

• Oversee continuous integration tools and facilitate code releases.

• Address infrastructure-related challenges.

• Assist with AI initiatives, encompassing AI frameworks and prompts.

• Document technical standards, designs, and automation methodologies.

• Engage in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.

• Work with APIs, JSON data, CRUD operations, and outputs from network devices.

• Stay informed about new technologies and identify opportunities for enhancing network automation.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Business, or equivalent professional experience.

• Over 4 years of experience in Python development.

• More than 3 years of experience in DevOps.

• Proven expertise in Python-based network automation.

• Proficient in Django and Django REST Framework.

• Experience in building end-to-end CI/CD pipelines and utilizing tools like Jenkins.

• Familiarity with Ansible, Ansible Vault, Ansible Playbooks, or similar configuration management solutions.

• Proficient in working with Linux, preferably Red Hat, in an enterprise setting.

• Experience utilizing Git for code version control.

• Proficiency with Kubernetes and Docker.

• Experience integrating REST and SOAP APIs.

• Familiarity with automated testing tools such as Selenium, pytest, SoapUI, or Postman.

• Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.

• Knowledge of modern web technologies such as Angular, TypeScript, Node.js, HTML5, Bootstrap, Webpack, Grunt, or Gulp; preference for Angular and TypeScript experience.

• Experience with JSON, APIs, and CRUD operations.

• Familiarity with AI frameworks and prompt-based solutions.

• Experience with Itential or other network automation tools.

• Proficient in parsing network device output using RegEx, TextFSM, or similar techniques.

• Networking knowledge, including routing, switching, protocols, filtering, or firewall rules is advantageous.

• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

• Effective communication and mentoring skills.

• Capacity to manage multiple priorities and collaborate effectively with technical teams.
