Senior Software Engineer, Python

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain robust and sustainable Python services and applications that handle high volumes of production traffic.

• Take ownership of the software throughout its entire lifecycle, from design and development to deployment and operation.

• Utilize self-service CI/CD, infrastructure, monitoring, and observability tools.

• Deliver project milestones according to agreed quality standards and timelines.

• Ensure reliability and performance benchmarks are met for managed services.

• Construct comprehensive automated testing frameworks.

• Engage in code reviews and architectural conversations.

• Identify and mitigate technical debt, reliability issues, and opportunities for simplification.

• Participate in incident response activities and enhance system reliability.

• Mentor and review the contributions of junior engineers.

• Provide guidance and influence technical strategies and trade-offs among colleagues and stakeholders.

• Leverage AI coding assistants and development agents for design, implementation, testing, debugging, and documentation tasks.

• Share practices enabled by AI and enhance engineering methods and developer experience.

• Collaborate with product, design, data, engineering, and platform-user teams to deliver value to customers and the business.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive professional experience in building and managing production software.

• Advanced proficiency in Python.

• Strong understanding of software design, testing, and engineering best practices.

• Experience with Git and CI/CD workflows.

• Proven experience in building and managing services within distributed or microservices environments.

• Familiarity with relational and/or document databases such as PostgreSQL and MongoDB.

• Experience with Docker and containerized applications.

• Understanding of production operations, observability, reliability, and performance metrics.

• Practical experience utilizing AI coding assistants and/or development agents in daily software development tasks.

• Preferred experience with Kubernetes and AWS, as well as Terraform or other infrastructure-as-code technologies.

• Preferred experience with event-driven systems and messaging.

• Preferred experience in integrating LLMs or AI capabilities into production software, or in developing AI-powered applications and autonomous workflows.

• Experience in a globally distributed and remote working environment is preferred.

• Contributions to open-source projects are preferred.

• Must be residing in or willing to relocate to Poland.

• Must be eligible to work without requiring sponsorship.
