Senior Fullstack Engineer – Node.js, AWS, AI-Native

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• Create and uphold scalable, secure backend services and RESTful APIs

• Connect third-party platforms and SaaS solutions

• Deploy, monitor, and scale applications on AWS

• Evaluate and validate AI-generated code for security, performance, and maintainability

• Refactor and update existing services

• Develop automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and observability

• Resolve production issues

• Manage requirements through to production with minimal oversight

• Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders during UK business hours

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive commercial experience in a senior, hands-on software engineering position

• Strong practical experience with Node.js, including building and maintaining production-grade backend applications

• High proficiency in JavaScript and/or TypeScript

• Hands-on experience in designing, deploying, and maintaining applications on AWS

• Solid backend engineering capabilities, encompassing API development, system integration, and software architecture

• Familiarity with databases, data modeling, automated testing, CI/CD, and Git

• Experience with AI-native development workflows, utilizing tools like Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar

• Proficiency in employing AI agents throughout the entire SDLC: planning, implementation, debugging, refactoring, testing, and delivery

• Capability to review, debug, and secure code, including AI-generated content

• Demonstrated ability to work independently, take ownership of delivery, and make informed technical decisions

• Readiness to work during UK business hours

• Fluent in English, both written and spoken (mandatory)

• Preferred: experience in fintech, payments, fraud, credit, or other regulated sectors

• Preferred: experience integrating third-party SaaS platforms and external APIs

• Preferred: experience with cloud-native architectures, distributed systems, and production operations
