Senior Software Engineer – Python

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Analyze the quality of interactions with contemporary coding agents like OpenAI Codex and Claude Code.

• Evaluate whether the responses from AI coding agents are logical and if the preambles and reasoning are beneficial.

• Assess if outputs reflect sound engineering judgment and align with the thought process of a proficient engineer.

• Examine AI-generated coding interactions comprehensively.

• Determine the usefulness and correctness of outputs at a broad level.

• Analyze the quality of explanations and reasoning, in addition to the code.

• Differentiate between varying levels of response quality.

• Provide clear and decisive feedback on what was effective, what was ineffective, and what felt inappropriate or misleading.

• Assist in defining what exceptional interaction entails when utilizing tools such as Cursor.

• Make subjective yet thorough judgments regarding engineering taste and user trust.

⛳️ Requirements

• Highly skilled software engineer (SR+) or Staff/Principal-level engineer (or equivalent experience).

• Strong expertise in TypeScript/JavaScript or Python.

• Practical experience using OpenAI Codex, Claude Code, and Cursor.

• In-depth knowledge of modern AI-assisted development workflows.

• Ability to assess code without the need to fully execute or meticulously review every line.

• Comfortable providing direct and opinionated feedback.

• High standards for what constitutes good engineering practices.

• Experience with tools like Cursor or other AI-first IDEs.

• Prior experience in prompt design or evaluation workflows.

• Experience mentoring senior engineers or establishing engineering standards.

• Must complete a take-home evaluation exercise and participate in one behavioral interview.

• Must consent to a straightforward background check for the project.

• Must include location, resume, phone number, and earliest available start date in the application.
