This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Enhance Flex’s payment integration platform and user interface.
• Create backend systems and services that manage crucial external integrations and drive the product.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Product, Design, Infrastructure, Sales, Partner, and Customer Success teams.
• Perform hands-on engineering tasks as an individual contributor.
• Develop products that accommodate flexibility as product offerings change.
• Align project scope and delivery expectations with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Design, construct, and sustain data pipelines.
• Create robust, fault-tolerant systems that rely on multiple external dependencies.
• Raise team standards by implementing best practices and mentoring junior engineers.
• At least 6 years of experience in software engineering.
• A minimum of 4 years of experience working with Java.
• Capability to operate within a globally distributed team with a strong sense of ownership.
• Proven experience engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, successfully aligning and managing expectations regarding scope and delivery.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Experience in building robust, fault-tolerant systems with several external dependencies.
• Proficiency in designing, constructing, and maintaining data pipelines.
• Familiarity with Java frameworks and tools utilized at Flex, including Spring (core/web/boot), Gradle, JUnit, and JVM (memory/performance tuning, GC).
• Experience with Service-Oriented Architecture, REST APIs, Message Queues, and scalable architectures.
• Knowledge of AWS (EKS, Aurora RDS, ElastiCache, DynamoDB) and containerization tools.
• Proficient in CI/CD systems, preferably GitHub Actions, git, and automation.
• Skilled in observability and monitoring solutions, such as DataDog.
• Familiarity with big data platforms and tools, including Snowflake.
• Proficient in Infrastructure as Code, utilizing tools like CDK and Terraform.
• Capable of enhancing team standards through best practices and mentorship for junior engineers.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with experience in cross-functional collaboration.
