Senior Software Engineer – Kubernetes Automation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Bulgaria.

📋 Description

• Create and develop distributed systems that manage Kubernetes infrastructure autonomously at scale.

• Develop production-grade Go services that interface with AWS, GCP, and Azure APIs for real-time management of cloud resources.

• Take ownership of features from initial design through to implementation, testing, and deployment in production.

• Troubleshoot complex production challenges across various cloud providers, Kubernetes clusters, and distributed services.

• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to tackle problems that lack textbook solutions.

• Work with time-series data, cloud provider APIs, and the internals of the Kubernetes control plane.

• Contribute to the direction of the product and manage the backlog.

• Engage in on-call rotation for teams that necessitate it.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong foundation in software engineering principles, including clean abstractions, maintainable code, and well-justified architectural decisions.

• Production experience in Go is highly preferred; candidates without Go experience should exhibit strong systems programming capabilities in a similar language.

• Understanding of Kubernetes internals, such as autoscaling and networking.

• Successfully led a complex project from conception to completion.

• Experience with AI coding agents and agentic development workflows.

• Proven experience with observability tools in production environments.

• Familiarity with CI/CD and DevOps methodologies.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.

• Startup mentality: adaptable, proactive, and comfortable navigating ambiguity.

• Must be a resident of one of the specified eligible European countries.
