Senior Software Engineer – IT

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Deliver SAP ECC Production Planning / Manufacturing assistance.

• Aid global manufacturing operations within a large enterprise setting.

• Oversee incidents, conduct root cause analysis, and offer production support.

• Facilitate material requirements planning, demand management, planned orders, procurement proposals, capacity planning, and production planning strategies.

• Diagnose MRP exceptions, planning inconsistencies, and supply-demand discrepancies.

• Assist in managing the entire production order lifecycle from creation and release to scheduling, confirmation, goods movements, settlement, and closure.

• Support production execution and shop floor activities.

• Maintain and evaluate manufacturing master data and its effects on planning and execution.

• Analyze planning outcomes and address production planning challenges.

• Assist with inventory and material movement transactions, encompassing goods issue, goods receipt, transfer postings, backflushing, scrap processing, and inventory adjustments.

• Collaborate with Controlling (CO) teams on production order settlement, variance calculations, cost center assignments, product costing, and work center costing.

• Resolve end-to-end planning and procurement scenarios along with MM integration.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, or a related field.

• SAP PP (Production Planning) certification is preferred.

• 5–8 years of experience in SAP ECC Production Planning / Manufacturing support.

• Background in supporting global manufacturing operations in a large enterprise context.

• Strong skills in incident management, root cause analysis, and production support.

• Extensive knowledge in Material Requirements Planning (MRP), demand management, planned orders, procurement proposals, capacity planning, and production planning strategies.

• Profound understanding of make-to-stock (MTS), make-to-order (MTO), repetitive manufacturing, and engineer-to-order manufacturing processes.

• Experience diagnosing MRP exceptions, planning inconsistencies, and supply-demand imbalances.

• Expertise in the production order lifecycle, including creation, release, scheduling, confirmation, goods issue, goods receipt, settlement, and order closure.

• Experience supporting order types, control keys, confirmation parameters, scheduling parameters, and order status management.

• Knowledge of production execution and shop floor processes.

• Strong experience with manufacturing master data: Material Master, Bill of Material (BOM), Work Centers, Routings, Production Versions, Production Resources/Tools (PRT), and Engineering Change Management (ECM).

• Understanding of master data governance and impact analysis across planning and execution operations.

• Expertise in MRP types, lot-sizing procedures, safety stock planning, scheduling, capacity requirements planning, capacity leveling, and planning calendars.

• Ability to analyze planning results and resolve production planning issues.

• Experience with Goods Issue, Goods Receipt, Transfer Postings, Backflushing, Scrap Processing, and Inventory Adjustments.

• Strong understanding of inventory impacts on production planning and manufacturing execution.

• Knowledge of manufacturing cost flows and integration with Controlling (CO).

• Experience collaborating with CO teams on production order settlement, variance calculations, cost center assignments, product costing, and work center costing.

• Ability to troubleshoot end-to-end planning and procurement scenarios.

• Experience with integration with the MM Module.
