Senior Software Engineer, Infrastructure Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with Product Management, Product Design, Data Science, and Client Engineers to convert business and user requirements into effective, low-latency technical solutions.

• Take ownership of the entire software lifecycle for significant product initiatives, from creating technical design documents and API contracts to development, testing, deployment, and monitoring.

• Design, implement, and assess A/B experiments utilizing tools like BigQuery, HEX, or Firebase.

• Examine user behavior, conversion paths, and retention strategies to inform data-driven engineering choices.

• Develop and sustain scalable GraphQL, REST, and gRPC APIs along with distributed backend services tailored for client usage and consumer UI efficiency.

• Set engineering best practices and enhance developer workflows.

• Mentor, guide, and work alongside technical contributors and cross-functional engineering teams.

• Identify, define, and lead high-impact projects that align with Reddit’s objectives.

• Create efficient, scalable, and high-quality architecture for authentication, authorization, and identity management.

• Continuously enhance both technical and non-technical skills.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in developing software at an internet scale, ideally with an emphasis on machine learning storage infrastructure.

• Proficient in software development across one or more general-purpose programming languages: Golang, Python, C++, Java.

• Familiarity with crucial cloud infrastructure components: Kubernetes, CI/CD, AWS, GCP.

• Practical experience in implementing features, optimizations, and bug fixes in distributed messaging systems.

• Strong communication skills to work effectively with stakeholders in engineering, data science, machine learning, and product management.

• A degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
