Senior Infrastructure Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead the design and deployment of scalable, secure, and resilient cloud infrastructure across AWS and Azure for Candidly’s AI and SaaS offerings.

• Drive the architectural vision and strategy in alignment with long-term business objectives.

• Identify infrastructure risks proactively before they escalate into issues.

• Own and enforce best practices related to infrastructure as code, CI/CD, and automated deployments.

• Streamline and enhance SDLC processes by recognizing bottlenecks and creating solutions leveraging AI-assisted tools or traditional automation methods.

• Act as a subject matter expert in cloud architecture, containerization, and observability.

• Lead incident response efforts and post-mortem analyses aimed at systemic improvements.

• Proactively pinpoint and address infrastructure gaps.

• Collaborate with engineering leadership and cross-functional teams on infrastructure strategy, standards, reliability, and operational culture.

• Enhance and fortify the engineering team through technical guidance and teamwork.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5–7+ years of practical experience in cloud infrastructure, DevOps, or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE).

• Expert-level knowledge of AWS services including EC2, ELB, ASG, RDS, S3, SQS, Lambda, IAM, VPC, CloudFormation, CDK, and Route 53.

• Strong understanding of Linux administration and networking concepts, such as VPNs, VPC peering, NAT, DNS, and firewalls.

• Extensive experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for large-scale container orchestration using CloudFormation, AWS CDK, Docker, and Kubernetes.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Comfortable working in a remote environment and independently.

• Moderate experience with Azure, with an ability to operate across multi-cloud and multi-region infrastructures.

• Proficient in CI/CD pipelines, including AWS CodePipeline, GitLab CI, or similar tools.

• Strong skills in scripting and automation with Python, Bash, and Ansible.

• Comprehensive understanding of monitoring and logging solutions like AWS CloudWatch, Datadog, and Azure Monitor.

• Practical experience with high-availability architectures and auto-scaling strategies.

• Solid knowledge of AWS security best practices, including IAM, encryption, Secrets Manager, and security auditing procedures.

• Familiarity with MySQL, Postgres, and Redshift databases.

• Knowledge of serverless architectures, including AWS Lambda and Fargate.

• Understanding of database replication strategies.

• Preferred: experience in high-growth regulated sectors such as Fintech.

• Preferred: demonstrated experience in technical leadership roles.

• Preferred: AWS Professional-level certifications.

• Preferred: familiarity with event-driven architectures, such as SNS, SQS, and EventBridge.

• Preferred: experience with AWS cost optimization strategies.

• Preferred: familiarity with SOC, NIST, ISO, CCPA, and GDPR compliance frameworks.

• Preferred: experience integrating AWS services with third-party observability and security solutions.

• Preferred: knowledge of single-tenant, multi-tenant, and client on-premises deployment architectures.

• Preferred: familiarity with scalable ML pipelines and tools like Kubeflow, MLflow, and Amazon SageMaker.

• Preferred: experience in data engineering and large-scale data processing and storage solutions.

• Preferred: understanding of Jira and Confluence.
