This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
β’ Design, develop, and implement backend systems and APIs using Go.
β’ Architect and establish maintainable, backward-compatible APIs and backend services.
β’ Assess costs, scalability, risks, technical challenges, alternatives, and trade-offs.
β’ Contribute to full-stack product features by adding React/TypeScript frontend and Go backend code.
β’ Define technical patterns and operational standards.
β’ Plan, lead, and execute intricate multi-team projects that involve external dependencies.
β’ Mentor colleagues and take turns in technical leadership roles.
β’ Collaborate with design and product teams throughout the discovery and delivery phases.
β’ Participate in shaping technical and quarterly product roadmaps.
β’ Engage in on-call rotations and address production/user issues.
β’ Communicate effectively, share knowledge, delegate tasks, and assist engineers in their professional growth.
β’ Extensive experience in building APIs and backend services using Go or similar languages.
β’ Strong understanding of API design, error management, and developer experience.
β’ Professional experience in delivering frontend features utilizing React and TypeScript.
β’ Experience in contributing to full-stack software throughout all phases of the development lifecycle.
β’ Proven ability to plan and deliver complex projects involving multiple teams or systems.
β’ Capable of navigating external dependencies and uncertainties, breaking down complex tasks, delivering incrementally, and balancing technical investments with business objectives.
β’ Full ownership of projects from inception through deployment and ongoing maintenance.
β’ Proactive in addressing technical debt and debugging issues across the entire technology stack.
β’ Experience in mentoring engineers and leading technical design discussions.
β’ Proven ability to work cross-functionally and adapt to changing customer or business requirements.
β’ Clear, considerate, and regular communication both in writing and face-to-face.
β’ Experience in supporting software in production environments.
β’ Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation.
β’ Nice to have: proficiency with AI coding tools such as Copilot, Claude Code, or Cursor.
