Senior Software Engineer II, AI Labs – Foundations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create, develop, and manage production AI-powered systems and interactive experiences, including Cart Assistant and voice AI.

• Establish core systems for AI applications, such as embedding infrastructure, voice AI pipelines, client-facing elements, and integrations.

• Prototype innovative ideas and turn successful concepts into viable products.

• Integrate foundational models via APIs and open-source frameworks.

• Utilize retrieval-augmented generation and vector search as needed.

• Oversee projects from start to finish, encompassing requirements gathering, technical design, implementation, testing, deployment, monitoring, and iterative refinement.

• Enhance systems for reliability, low latency, and cost-effectiveness.

• Collaborate with Product, Design, Data Science, ML, and Infrastructure teams.

• Promote engineering excellence through system architecture, code reviews, technical guidance, and adherence to AI/ML production engineering best practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• Established senior software engineering experience in developing, delivering, and managing production systems at scale.

• Practical experience with AI or ML in a production environment.

• Experience in delivering LLM-powered features or incorporating foundational model APIs into a live product.

• Proven track record of owning services end-to-end, including CI/CD, automated testing, monitoring, and on-call duties.

• Proficiency in Golang, Python, or Typescript.

• Ability to utilize AI development tools such as Copilot, Cursor, or Claude.

• Preferred: 5 to 8+ years of relevant industry experience.

• Preferred: Background in conversational agents, multi-turn dialogue systems, or agentic LLM applications.

• Preferred: Knowledge in STT/TTS, natural language interfaces, LLM fine-tuning, transfer learning, model training, and model performance evaluation.

• Preferred: Familiarity with embedding systems, vector search, RAG, and vector databases such as Pinecone, Weaviate, FAISS, or Elasticsearch.

• Preferred: Experience with AWS or GCP, Docker, Kubernetes, and Kafka.

• Preferred: Demonstrated ability in mentorship and technical leadership.
