Senior Software Engineer, Government

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee intricate projects involving multiple stakeholders and engineers that significantly influence the government product line.

• Create systems that customize Vanta’s core compliance platform for federal agencies, government vendors, and SLED organizations.

• Spearhead the design and development of entirely new product features, including fundamental compliance workflow capabilities.

• Collaborate with early design partners to confirm and refine capabilities as requirements change.

• Work in partnership with related engineering teams on shared infrastructure and tagging systems.

• Propel technical initiatives across engineering, product management, and market entry.

• Convert vague early-stage requirements into lasting, scalable solutions.

• Contribute to the engineering culture at Vanta as the organization expands.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in the industry.

• Strong skills in systems thinking and platform architecture.

• Background in highly regulated sectors such as fintech or healthcare.

• Experience with FedRAMP or in the government domain is advantageous, but not mandatory.

• Comfortable working in early-stage, 0→1 environments where requirements are subject to change.

• Strong product-oriented mindset, capable of prioritizing tasks against deadlines while balancing technical rigor with delivery speed.

• Willingness to responsibly utilize AI to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

• Must possess authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
