Senior Software Engineer, Golang, Storage

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design and develop control-plane services, drivers such as CSI, and tools for provisioning, configuring, and managing storage for Kubernetes-based AI and computing workloads.

• Incorporate high-performance storage platforms, including Dell PowerScale, VAST, and similar systems, into automated declarative provisioning workflows.

• Create data-path, telemetry, and observability tools to identify and resolve issues related to performance, reliability, and scalability.

• Produce production-quality software primarily in Go, adhering to strong testing, code review, and operational standards.

• Provide infrastructure-as-code utilizing Terraform/OpenTofu and implement GitOps-driven storage configuration and lifecycle pipelines with ArgoCD or Flux.

• Facilitate bare-metal and hybrid provisioning where storage overlaps with host and cluster initialization.

• Implement storage integration for k0s-based Kubernetes through Cluster API and K0rdent management/child cluster architectures.

• Design storage software for fully disconnected air-gapped environments, addressing local artifact/mirror connectivity and PKI/TLS considerations.

• Take ownership of ambiguous problems from inception to resolution and effectively communicate technical decisions across teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience with Go (Golang) in production systems.

• More than 5 years of experience in building distributed production systems at scale.

• At least 5 years of experience with Kubernetes as a developer, applying an Infrastructure as Code methodology.

• Knowledge of Linux and Kubernetes storage fundamentals (NFS, CSI).

• Proficiency in Python is preferred.

• Experience in developing or integrating high-performance storage for GPU/AI workloads is preferred.

• Familiarity with high-throughput data pipelines and GPUDirect Storage is preferred.

• Demonstrated experience in sovereign or high-security air-gapped environments is preferred.

• Experience with Dell PowerScale, VAST, or equivalent storage systems.

• Proficient in Terraform/OpenTofu.

• Experience with GitOps pipelines utilizing ArgoCD or Flux.

• Knowledge of Cluster API (CAPI), k0s, and K0rdent management/child cluster architectures.

• Understanding of Harbor and PKI/TLS considerations for air-gapped environments.
