Senior Software Engineer – Golang

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design and develop highly scalable distributed backend systems.

• Create core services in Golang, with an emphasis on performance and reliability.

• Utilize PostgreSQL and Redis to construct robust, data-intensive systems.

• Architect systems that function across microservices, networking layers, and cloud platforms.

• Collaborate closely with the CTO and senior engineers on strategic technical initiatives.

• Prototype and implement new platform capabilities and internal tools.

• Shape engineering direction and technical standards within Kong.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive production experience with Golang.

• Proven experience in designing and managing distributed systems at scale.

• Strong background with PostgreSQL and Redis in production settings.

• Proven ability to build backend systems that ensure high availability, scalability, and reliability.

• Excellent systems thinking, debugging, and performance optimization abilities.

• Familiarity with Kubernetes, networking, or API gateways is a plus.

• Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure is a bonus.

• Contributions to open source or internal platform tools are a plus.

• Experience in developing platform, infrastructure, or developer tooling products is a bonus.

• Must be legally authorized to work in the country where this position is based.
