Senior Software Engineer, Consumer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Oversee the team's web initiatives, encompassing features for guests and tools for restaurants.

• Create cross-platform experiences in collaboration with iOS, Android, and backend engineers.

• Engage with the entire tech stack, from React and Next.js frontend applications to backend services.

• Conduct experiments with guests and restaurants to explore new dining experiences.

• Deliver code that propels the growth and strategy of Toast’s consumer business.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a full-stack software engineer.

• Proficient in frontend development, specializing in modern web applications using React and TypeScript; knowledge of Next.js is advantageous.

• Experience in backend development, focusing on GraphQL or REST APIs; familiarity with Kotlin/Java is a plus.

• Ability to take ownership of projects from inception to completion, including shipping, launching, monitoring rollouts, and analyzing outcomes.

• A strong perspective on consumer products and a passion for influencing the development process.

• Demonstrated success in leading technical projects that affect multiple teams and require cross-functional collaboration.

• Experience with native frontend development for iOS or Android is considered a valuable asset.
