This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +29 more states.
β’ Enhance the overall quality of engineering through documentation, technical guidance, mentorship, and the adoption of best practices.
β’ Spearhead major migration initiatives.
β’ Engage with government stakeholders to secure support for technical projects.
β’ Partner with product teams, government stakeholders, and other contractors to create new systems and enhance existing ones.
β’ Establish the technical vision and modernization strategy in collaboration with clients and the delivery team.
β’ Ensure that modernized systems retain essential legacy functionalities while implementing improvements.
β’ Make architectural choices that balance long-term program objectives with immediate delivery requirements.
β’ Prioritize technical assignments and manage trade-offs in alignment with client objectives.
β’ Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to gather essential business rules and constraints.
β’ Act as a technical liaison for client engineering and IT teams.
β’ Facilitate coordination across functions and delivery teams to address dependencies and sustain modernization efforts.
β’ A minimum of 10 years of experience in COBOL Mainframe applications.
β’ Extensive experience with IMS, DB2, VSAM, CICS, MQ, JES2, JCL, and TSO.
β’ Practical experience with IBM and CA utility programs.
β’ Knowledge of how mainframe systems communicate with other disconnected systems via messaging platforms.
β’ Understanding of the complete CICS processing and flow.
β’ Strong attention to detail concerning user experience and code quality.
β’ Excellent written and real-time communication skills.
β’ A passion for researching and solving complex technical challenges.
β’ Comfort with ambiguity in project direction and a willingness to support a growing team.
β’ Experience collaborating with other vendors and multiple government agencies.
β’ Legal authorization to work in the United States.
β’ Ability to fulfill additional requirements for government contracts for which candidates are hired.
β’ Work authorization that does not require visa sponsorship now or in the future.
β’ May need to undergo a government background check or security clearance, depending on the contract.
