Senior Software Engineer, Cloud Infrastructure – SRE

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Lead technical initiatives to develop dependable and maintainable applications, infrastructure, and interfaces that streamline interactions with the healthcare system.

• Become the authority on the team's business and technical domains, including DevOps, site reliability, and cloud best practices.

• Oversee the planning, execution, and release of intricate technical projects involving multiple teams.

• Collaborate with partners, product managers, and designers to tackle challenging issues.

• Mentor and guide engineers to enhance technology and apply industry best practices.

• Take ownership of substantial or complex technology capabilities across one or more domains.

• Facilitate collaboration and execution across teams, addressing project risks to ensure timely delivery.

• Contribute to projects at both the functional group and organization-wide level.

• Drive prioritization of the technical roadmap and influence enhancements to product roadmaps and processes.

• Identify and mitigate failure domains, design resilient systems, and lessen the impact of outages.

• Develop software that reduces maintenance efforts and business impacts during failures.

• Guide the establishment of Service-Level Objectives for accountable systems.

• Own medium to large features or infrastructure projects from technical design through to completion.

• Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

• Perform other assigned duties.

⛳️ Requirements

• 6+ years of professional experience in software engineering.

• Experience working with diverse technologies and achieving increasingly significant accomplishments.

• Proven experience as a key contributor to cross-pod or cross-company deliverables.

• Experience in leading technical contributions and enhancing team output quality.

• Experience in building fault-tolerant and scalable software systems.

• Expertise in the practical application of computer science principles.

• Ability to write stable, correct, and maintainable code.

• Experience in mentoring and training junior engineers.

• Extensive expertise in managing production environments within AWS or GCP at scale.

• Advanced proficiency with Terraform or similar infrastructure-as-code tools.

• Demonstrated experience with Kubernetes and ArgoCD workflows.

• Strong background in Site Reliability Engineering, including SLOs, error budgets, and incident management.

• Experience in creating deployment pipelines using GitHub Actions.

• Proficient with monitoring tools like Prometheus or Grafana.

• Knowledge of cloud-native security, IAM, VPC peering, and service mesh technologies like Istio.

• Familiarity with at least one programming language for scripting and software development.

• B.S. in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent high-level industry experience.
