Senior AppDev Engineer, Azure

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design and develop features and services using .NET 8+ that align with program architecture standards.

• Lead the transformation of legacy modules into modern layered and service-oriented designs.

• Create secure and maintainable REST APIs alongside integration components.

• Enhance data access by utilizing EF Core and applying optimized SQL design patterns.

• Take part in design reviews and perform peer code assessments.

• Optimize CI/CD pipelines to improve deployment reliability and readiness for releases.

• Collaborate with the QA team to ensure testability, prevent defects, and safeguard against regression issues.

• Assist in the enhancement of resiliency and disaster recovery through implementation and validation processes.

• Mentor and guide AppDev Engineers.

• Develop or assist in the creation of technical backlogs, epics, and user stories in collaboration with the architect.

• May undertake the responsibilities of a technical product owner.

• Carry out additional tasks as assigned by management.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.

• Over 7 years of professional software engineering experience in developing enterprise applications.

• Extensive hands-on experience with C#, ASP.NET Core, .NET 6–8, and Web API development.

• Proven experience in delivering applications hosted on Azure using Azure App Services and Azure SQL (or similar technologies).

• Strong background with EF Core (or a comparable ORM) and fundamentals of SQL Server, including indexing and query optimization.

• Familiarity with Azure DevOps (or similar platforms) utilizing Git branching, pull requests, and CI/CD principles.

• Knowledge of secure coding practices and patterns for authentication and authorization implementation.

• Ability to independently estimate and complete tasks with minimal oversight.

• Preferred: experience with Azure Functions, API Management, App Configuration/Key Vault, distributed caching, or messaging systems.

• Preferred: background in performance testing and tuning at both API and database layers.

• Preferred: experience with observability tools such as Application Insights, Log Analytics, dashboards, and alerting systems.

• Preferred: experience in modernizing front-end applications using React, Vue, or Angular.

• Preferred: involvement in cloud migration or modernization initiatives across multiple application portfolios.
