Senior Software Engineer, Cloud Experience

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design secure, efficient, and highly available frameworks and platform capabilities that reduce infrastructure complexity.

• Enhance and optimize existing systems to boost availability, efficiency, and AI-native adaptability.

• Create APIs and tools for scalable service management and provisioning.

• Utilize and extend open-source projects like Kubernetes and Argo CD, contributing upstream improvements when advantageous.

• Develop agent-driven workflows featuring change previews and validation.

• Work alongside service owners and partner teams to streamline complex workflows.

• Troubleshoot production issues and enhance system reliability and visibility.

• Construct interfaces and agent-driven functionalities for provisioning and managing services throughout their lifecycle.

• Collaborate with teams across Airbnb to enhance cloud capabilities that support AI and ML workloads.

⛳️ Requirements

• A degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.

• Over 5 years of experience in professional software engineering.

• Proven experience in constructing developer platforms or infrastructure interfaces such as APIs, CLIs, or declarative configurations on a large scale.

• In-depth knowledge of areas including Kubernetes, cluster lifecycle, infrastructure automation, public cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure), and IaaS offerings.

• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across engineering teams.

• Strong problem-solving skills and robust production debugging capabilities.

• Must reside in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity.

• Experience in developing AI agents that utilize tools or APIs, evaluating their performance, contributing to open-source infrastructure projects, and building Kubernetes controllers will be advantageous.
