This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado, +2 more states.
• Develop the next iteration of ECP's premier clinical product tailored for senior living communities.
• Transition clinical workflows from ColdFusion and AngularJS to the new platform, addressing one functionality at a time.
• Evaluate current workflows, including undocumented behaviors, and reconstruct them on the new platform.
• Manage clinical domains comprehensively from production to testing, ensuring migrated workflows are validated through rigorous testing.
• Collaborate with the product team to establish intentional differences in workflows and mitigate regressions.
• Create new clinical functionalities following the migration of domains.
• Work alongside the product manager to define the scope and sequence of tasks.
• Question expensive methodologies when more cost-effective solutions can deliver the same outcomes for caregivers.
• Enhance automated test coverage owned by engineers using Playwright.
• Be responsible for on-call duties for the developed domains.
• Report to the Senior Engineering Manager for Clinical while working within a four-engineer team that includes a tech lead and a dedicated product manager.
• Expertise in TypeScript across both ends of the stack, utilizing Node on the server side and React in the browser; capability to articulate a feature from the data model to the interface and identify how it would be modeled differently now.
• Regular engagement with AI-assisted development on production code, with a clear understanding of when to cease reliance on AI.
• Experience utilizing AI on a substantial codebase not created by the candidate, including confidently managing incorrect initial outputs due to inadequate system context.
• Proven track record of assisting fellow engineers in enhancing their AI utilization.
• Background in applying domain-driven design within a complex domain, including establishing boundaries against an immutable system and recognizing the implications of incorrect boundaries.
• Experience in developing software where defects lead to consequences beyond just poor user experience; has adapted testing and deployment practices and participated in on-call responsibilities.
• Proficient in data modeling and query performance within a tenant-based data model; adept at identifying and rectifying queries that struggle at the largest customer scale.
• Ability to collaborate with product teams and influence development by comprehending the fundamental business issues.
• Preferred: experience executing a legacy-to-next-generation migration while both systems operated in production.
• Preferred: familiarity with ColdFusion or another legacy programming language.
• Preferred: knowledge of HIPAA, PHI, or another regulated data environment.
• Preferred: experience with SQL Server, AWS, and event-driven architecture in a production setting.
• Preferred: exposure to offline-first or progressive web applications.
• Preferred: experience with Playwright or a similar browser automation tool that is directly owned.
• Preferred: background in healthcare or experience observing clinical staff.
