Senior Software Engineer, Backend – Python

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Provide technical guidance for the advancement of RD Station’s AI Agent Builder within the AI Alliance.

• Contribute to the Python backend and lead discussions on architecture.

• Support the team in making independent decisions while ensuring scalability, resilience, and quality.

• Collaborate with Product, Design, and Frontend teams, translating requirements into feasible and sustainable technical solutions.

• Continuously improve the functionality of the AI Agent Builder.

• Create scalable, resilient, and observable backend solutions.

• Direct solution design and technical decisions in accordance with engineering standards and the architecture of the area.

• Coordinate efforts between backend and frontend, anticipating dependencies and eliminating obstacles.

• Enhance the team’s technical expertise through code reviews, constructive feedback, and knowledge sharing.

• Take responsibility for observability, performance, incident management, and technical debt oversight.

• Ensure roadmap predictability by balancing speed, quality, and sustainability.

• Utilize AI tools, such as Cursor, responsibly, with accountability for quality, security, and maintainability.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in Python backend development, creating and enhancing highly complex applications and services.

• Familiarity with software architecture, REST APIs, distributed systems, and service-to-service integrations.

• Expertise in engineering best practices, including SOLID principles, design patterns, automated testing, and code quality.

• Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases and asynchronous or event-driven processing.

• Knowledge of cloud platforms, CI/CD processes, and observability practices.

• Experience acting as a technical reference, mentoring fellow engineers through code reviews and technical discussions.

• Ability to evaluate trade-offs between scalability, performance, security, timelines, and business impact.

• Strong collaboration skills with multidisciplinary teams and technical leadership experience with backend and frontend teams.

• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools.

• Ownership mentality, effective communication, pragmatism, and a desire to learn in a rapidly evolving environment.

• Experience with products utilizing Generative AI, LLMs, or AI agents is advantageous.

• Knowledge of agent architectures, tool orchestration, and prompt engineering is a plus.

• Experience with MCP (Model Context Protocol) and integrations between agents and external services is a plus.

• Familiarity with LLMOps practices, monitoring, and evaluation of AI applications is a plus.

• Knowledge of React and TypeScript is a plus.

• Experience with GCP, Docker, Kafka and/or Pub/Sub, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Datadog is a plus.

• Experience with rapidly evolving digital products and scaling challenges is a plus.
