Senior Software Engineer – Backend, AI/ML

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• Design and develop AI-driven features throughout the entire stack, including backend inference services and frontend interfaces within ClickHouse Cloud.

• Construct robust and scalable APIs that link ClickHouse database functionalities with AI/ML inference systems as well as external and internal AI services.

• Implement and oversee integrations with the wider AI/ML ecosystem and adhere to established standards.

• Integrate models into production environments, ensuring monitoring, versioning, observability, and evaluation are in place.

• Participate in the daytime on-call rotation.

• Create and implement developer tools, SDKs, and documentation related to ClickHouse AI/ML capabilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of software engineering experience in production settings.

• Direct experience working with AI/ML technologies.

• Backend development skills in TypeScript or Python, with a focus on API design and service architecture.

• Strong sense of ownership and the ability to drive features from concept to production with minimal oversight.

• Capability to succeed in collaborative environments and communicate technical concepts effectively to various stakeholders.

• Nice to have: Experience with integrating and deploying AI/ML models in production environments, including inference APIs and vector databases.

• Nice to have: Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or GCP, especially regarding AI/ML deployment services.

• Nice to have: Knowledge of database systems and data processing pipelines; experience with ClickHouse is a significant advantage.
