This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Costa Rica.
• Design, develop, and sustain internal business applications utilizing Microsoft Azure services and contemporary full-stack engineering methodologies.
• Take ownership of solution design from inception to implementation, encompassing architecture, data flow, integrations, security, deployment, and ongoing support.
• Create front-end experiences leveraging React, TypeScript/JavaScript, reusable components, and API-driven patterns.
• Develop and uphold back-end services, REST APIs, serverless functions, integrations, and cloud-native components.
• Assess, refactor, secure, and scale prototypes and applications created by the business into enterprise-grade solutions.
• Provide technical leadership, conduct code reviews, offer architecture guidance, and mentor team members.
• Establish and uphold coding standards, branching strategies, pull request expectations, and quality controls.
• Convert business challenges and workflow deficiencies into technical solutions.
• Integrate applications with ERP, CRM, data services, authentication platforms, reporting tools, document processing services, and APIs.
• Implement secure coding practices, identity and access control, data protection, privacy, and governance measures.
• Utilize Git, CI/CD pipelines, work-item tracking, and release management methodologies.
• Support monitoring, logging, troubleshooting, performance optimization, and production readiness using Azure Monitor and Application Insights.
• Leverage AI/ML capabilities, including prompt engineering, LLM integration, document processing, classification, summarization, and AI-assisted development.
• Maintain technical documentation, architecture notes, deployment guides, runbooks, and knowledge-transfer materials.
• Enhance development practices through reusable patterns, shared components, automation, and established standards.
• Over 5 years of professional software development experience, including hands-on design, development, testing, deployment, and support of production applications.
• More than 2 years of experience in building cloud-native applications on Microsoft Azure or similar cloud platforms.
• Proficiency in React, TypeScript/JavaScript, REST APIs, and cloud-native back-end services.
• Experience in designing and constructing scalable application architectures from business requirements, prototypes, or vaguely defined problem statements.
• Strong grasp of software engineering fundamentals, including clean code practices, modular design, error handling, logging, testing, maintainability, and performance factors.
• Familiarity with Git-based source control, including branching, merging, pull requests, code reviews, and release coordination.
• Experience integrating applications with enterprise systems via REST APIs, event-driven designs, messaging, data services, or other integration strategies.
• Working knowledge of CI/CD concepts and tools such as GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.
• Experience with AI/ML-enabled application designs, including prompt engineering, LLM integration, document processing, semantic search, classification, summarization, or AI-assisted software development.
• Ability to communicate effectively with business stakeholders, analysts, developers, technical partners, and leadership.
