This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Work in collaboration with engineers employing ensemble or mob programming techniques to develop and maintain product security solutions.
• Create, manage, and sustain software and automation solutions within an expanding cloud environment.
• Facilitate the secure delivery of digital products for College Board and ensure the security of its infrastructure.
• Design, implement, and operationalize automated preventive and detective guardrails across enterprise cloud frameworks.
• Establish and enforce enterprise-wide controls that inhibit or automatically rectify high-risk misconfigurations.
• Enhance protection coverage for internet-facing systems by verifying asset inventories and broadening enforcement mechanisms.
• Assess control effectiveness through telemetry, compliance validation, and risk trend analysis.
• Embed secure-by-default infrastructure patterns into reusable modules and deployment processes.
• Improve and operationalize Unified Vulnerability Management workflows.
• Automate workflows for vulnerability intake, enrichment, ticketing, and response.
• Develop engineering solutions aimed at enhancing detection quality and response speed in collaboration with Cyber Operations.
• Convert security requirements into scalable implementations using infrastructure-as-code and automation frameworks.
• Evaluate and report on workflow efficiency and risk reduction outcomes utilizing operational metrics.
• Implement standardized, automated security checks in Backstage across code security, CSPM, and vulnerability management sectors.
• Create a measurable product security maturity model supported by Backstage telemetry and Security Scorecard outputs.
• Ensure the continuity of CSPM coverage and tool integrations during the transition of the CloudGuard platform.
• Produce a proof-of-concept for the new CSPM tool and address capability gaps through engineering solutions.
• Contribute to the creation of documentation, engineering standards, and practices for continuous improvement.
• Proven software engineering experience with strong proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Over 5 years of experience with a broad exposure to various software engineering aspects and demonstrated full-stack proficiency using JavaScript and TypeScript.
• In-depth knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS), encompassing IAM, KMS, EC2, EventBridge, ECS, Config, CloudTrail, CloudFormation, Lambda, and additional services.
• Experience with AWS CloudFormation, CDK, or Serverless Framework.
• Familiarity with IP networking, VPNs, DNS, load balancing, and firewalling.
• Experience in establishing software engineering guidelines and conducting code and design reviews.
• Skilled in documenting design and architectural artifacts and presenting them for architectural review.
• Ability to thrive in dynamic environments where standards and tools are continually evolving.
• Experience with pair programming or mob programming techniques.
• Background in DevOps and CI/CD automation and tooling.
• Strong understanding of cloud security, application security, and security engineering.
• Experience as part of a Platform Engineering team or in contributing to open-source projects.
• AWS professional-level certification or AWS Security Specialty certification is advantageous.
• Database experience with SQL and/or NoSQL.
• Familiarity with advanced Agentic Engineering or AIDLC (AI Development Lifecycle).
