Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop and sustain features utilizing Ruby on Rails, React, and Flutter.

• Assume complete ownership from the initial design phase to production deployment.

• Convert complex and unclear user requirements into user-friendly, technically robust solutions.

• Independently drive architectural decisions and tackle significant engineering challenges.

• Establish high engineering standards, mentor colleagues, and streamline processes.

• Balance the speed of feature delivery with the long-term health of the system by identifying and mitigating technical debt.

• Emphasize practical simplicity while avoiding unnecessary complexity.

• Manage production issues and implement lasting solutions to guarantee reliability and performance.

• Engage in code reviews, documentation, mentorship, and enhancements to processes.

• Collaborate with fellow engineers and cross-functional partners.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of software engineering experience with a solid history of managing features from conception to production deployment.

• Extensive expertise in Ruby on Rails.

• Product-oriented mindset with the ability to challenge requirements, identify gaps, and promote effective technical solutions.

• Profound understanding of relational database design, query optimization, and architectural trade-offs.

• Dedication to maintainability and security, including compliance with HIPAA/SOC 2.

• Excellent communication skills, including proficiency in asynchronous documentation and communication.

• Experience in dynamic startup environments with changing requirements and ambiguity.

• Authorization to work in the U.S.; the client is unable to offer visa sponsorship.

• Experience in developing highly reliable software is a plus.

• Direct experience with React and Flutter is a plus.

• Hands-on experience with AWS and modern DevOps practices is a plus.

• Relevant certifications will enhance the application.

• Experience with physical-device systems or low-connectivity environments is a plus.
