This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.
• Assist in developing Suwali, a platform that enhances accessibility to organizational knowledge and content through messaging and conversational tools.
• Collaborate with both technical and non-technical team members to understand user and partner requirements.
• Translate broader objectives into actionable plans, outlining scope, trade-offs, and manageable steps.
• Create and refine full-stack features that provide clear, user-friendly, and polished experiences.
• Take ownership of projects from exploration and implementation to testing, deployment, and follow-up.
• Utilize feedback and available data to evaluate functionality and identify necessary adjustments.
• Maintain clear communication and provide asynchronous updates to keep team members informed.
• Report directly to the Director of Engineering.
• Work collaboratively with product and engineering teams to establish goals and priorities while shaping scope and approach.
• Potentially oversee other engineers, facilitate their development, and coordinate team efforts.
• Preferably possess professional experience in building and maintaining production applications using Ruby on Rails and React.
• Experience with Python is an additional asset.
• Comfortable working across both frontend and backend development.
• Strong attention to usability.
• Proven ability to deliver well-tested and maintainable code.
• Familiarity with PostgreSQL, Redis, AWS, Neo4j, LLM-powered conversational experiences, WhatsApp, SMS, and Signal is beneficial but not mandatory.
• Proficient in written and spoken English.
• Willingness to explore unfamiliar areas of the product and technology stack.
• Open to utilizing AI tools, carefully evaluating their outputs, and taking ownership of delivered work.
• Preferred availability is between GMT -4 and +1.
