Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and deploy features across the entire stack, from the database to the user interface.

• Create clean, maintainable, and thoroughly tested code.

• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to define and deliver tasks.

• Diagnose and resolve issues across various systems.

• Influence technical decisions and contribute to architectural design.

• Work closely with the CTO on technical strategy.

• Scale and integrate systems and infrastructure to accommodate hundreds of independent publishers.

• Review code and provide mentorship to other engineers.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of professional experience in full stack software engineering.

• Proficiency in TypeScript, familiarity with one or more frontend frameworks, and knowledge of at least one other programming language.

• Strong grasp of HTML and CSS.

• Experience with relational databases and API design.

• Willingness and ability to learn new languages and frameworks as necessary.

• Knowledge of application security best practices, including secure coding, Content Security Policy (CSP), authentication/authorization, XSS, XSRF, and SQL injection prevention.

• Excellent communication skills and comfort in a remote, distributed team environment.

• Confidence in writing unit and integration tests.

• Proven history of shipping and managing production systems.

• Ability to oversee the complete development lifecycle of a work product.

• Comfort in using AI coding tools responsibly.

• Experience in publishing, media, or subscription/membership platforms is a plus.

• Familiarity with Python, PHP, or Ruby is advantageous.

• Experience in DevOps with Heroku, Google Cloud, AWS, or Cloudflare is a plus.
