Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Missouri.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain software components and products that bolster H&R Block business applications.

• Act as the primary contact for daily functional tasks, developer support, and upkeep of the development environment.

• Create new product features while ensuring existing product functionality and enhancements are maintained.

• Develop and execute unit tests, while addressing any defects that arise.

• Collaborate with Quality Assurance, User Experience, and other related teams to establish requirements and methodologies.

• Aid in the planning and execution of strategic product direction.

• Identify design features that enhance product scalability, usability, and performance.

• Lead technical design and code reviews for development initiatives.

• Convert complex business and functional requirements into technical specifications and product requirements.

• Mentor and guide team members on current technologies and consistent best practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience through a mix of education and relevant work experience.

• A minimum of 5 years of related work experience.

• Proficient in using tools, languages, coding standards, and best practices for software development and maintenance.

• Capability to create and execute unit tests, addressing defects as needed.

• Ability to comprehend complex business and functional requirements and generate technical specifications and product requirements.

• Skills to support scalability, usability, and performance in software design.

• Competence in conducting technical design and code reviews.

• Ability to mentor and coach team members on technological advancements and best practices.
