Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• As a senior engineer on the x360Sync team at ConnectWise, you will take ownership of the development of the macOS agent — a native desktop application central to the x360Sync backup and file sync product.

• You will design, implement, and maintain features within the x360Sync macOS agent, primarily utilizing C++ alongside Swift and Objective-C for native platform integrations.

• Your role includes debugging and resolving production issues, involving in-depth investigations across the application stack and macOS system APIs.

• You will engage in architecture and design discussions, providing technical recommendations based on macOS platform best practices.

• Writing clean, well-tested code and participating in code reviews — both giving and receiving constructive feedback — will be part of your responsibilities.

• You will collaborate with product managers, QA engineers, and cross-functional teams to deliver features on time without compromising on quality.

• You will contribute to enhancing engineering standards, internal tools, and development processes.

• Assisting in scoping and breaking down complex problems into clearly defined tasks for yourself and the larger team will also be expected.

• You will document technical decisions, system behaviors, and processes clearly for both teammates and future contributors.

⛳️ Requirements

• A solid professional background in writing C++ within a production setting is essential.

• Strong working knowledge of macOS internals, frameworks, and platform APIs (e.g., NSFileProvider, FSEvents) is required.

• Proficiency in Swift and/or Objective-C for macOS-native development is necessary.

• Experience in debugging complex, multi-threaded, or multi-process applications is important.

• Familiarity with software development workflows, including version control (Git), code review, and CI/CD pipelines, is expected.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are crucial as you will collaborate with distributed teams and need to express technical concepts clearly.

• You should be capable of working independently and managing your own priorities in a remote or hybrid environment.

• Comfort with working in an established codebase that may include design decisions made by others is essential.
