Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Spearhead full-stack development for several simultaneous AI pilot projects.

• Take ownership of software components and services from the design phase to production deployment.

• Develop AI/ML-driven features, including user interfaces and application layers that showcase model outputs.

• Integrate with tools such as LangChain, LangGraph, and other similar technologies.

• Update pilot applications to a secure, cloud-native golden path.

• Create front-end applications using React/TypeScript and back-end services with Python/FastAPI.

• Transition legacy Streamlit pilots to modern React and VA Design System front-end architectures.

• Build and sustain reusable CI/CD templates, containerization, and Azure deployment workflows.

• Integrate application layers with Azure AI Foundry, AI/ML services, model inference, and document-processing workflows.

• Implement automated testing, code reviews, supply-chain/CVE remediation, and release management methodologies.

• Generate system design and automation documentation.

• Guide engineers and provide technical leadership within an Agile team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be a U.S. citizen to secure VA T2 Public Trust clearance.

• Bachelor's degree with over 10 years of experience (or equivalent), demonstrating technical leadership.

• Proficient in full-stack development using React/TypeScript and Python/FastAPI in a production setting.

• Experience with Azure, including container deployments with AKS and/or Container Apps.

• Familiarity with Azure AI Foundry, LangChain, and LangGraph.

• Experience in modernizing applications to adhere to a design system and meeting Section 508 / WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards.

• Knowledge of the BrownMM DevSecOps toolchain is advantageous.

• Excellent communication skills and polished customer-facing abilities.

• Capable of producing system design and automation documentation.

• Over 7 years of experience with Agile methodologies such as Kanban, Scrum, SAFe, or other frameworks.

• More than 7 years of experience in automated software delivery within CI/CD environments like GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins.

• At least 7 years of experience with Git-based version control systems.

• Over 7 years of experience with relational databases, SQL, and NoSQL datastores.

• More than 7 years of experience in automating system backup and recovery, achieving high availability and zero-downtime solutions.

• At least 7 years of experience with federal application security practices, including OWASP, zero-trust principles, and encryption both at rest and in transit.

• Over 7 years of experience with FISMA High security system controls and constraints.

• Production experience with one or more of Kubernetes, Azure AI Framework, or Terraform/equivalent IaC tools like Pulumi.
