This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.
• Supervise the design, development, coding, testing, and debugging of new software as well as enhancements to existing software for customized CQG applications.
• Lead a team of software developers in their daily activities.
• Provide training and mentorship to junior engineers while guiding members of cross-functional teams.
• Assess business requirements and create tailored software solutions that align with various system architectures.
• Convert business needs into actionable tasks, assign responsibilities, and create agile work plans.
• Generate and review development tickets, distributing work based on team capabilities and priorities.
• Facilitate daily planning meetings, retrospectives, and other agile ceremonies.
• Evaluate developers’ output and assist in performance assessment, monitoring, troubleshooting, and problem resolution.
• Establish and enforce development standards, policies, and procedures.
• Review coding methodologies, software architecture, testing processes, and the integration of new software.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders and technical teams to design and architect effective solutions.
• Coordinate efforts between internal and external business teams and IT departments to manage dependencies and deliverables.
• Ensure that tasks are completed within established timelines.
• Provide estimates for task completion timelines and track progress accordingly.
• Investigate emerging technologies and evaluate their potential integration into CQG systems.
• Assist business users by addressing inquiries, investigating requests, troubleshooting issues, and resolving problems.
• Proven experience in overseeing the design, development, coding, testing, and debugging of software with moderate complexity.
• Leadership experience within a software development team.
• Background in business partnership, project planning, and quality assurance.
• Capability to analyze business needs and create customized software solutions.
• Proficient in translating business requirements into specific tasks and developing work plans in a lean, agile setting.
• Familiarity with development tickets, task allocation, and agile ceremonies.
• Experience in reviewing coding practices, software architecture, testing, and software integration.
• Ability to design and architect solutions that meet both business and technical requirements.
• Skill in coordinating with business teams and IT departments to manage dependencies and deliverables.
• Proficiency in estimating task timelines and tracking progress.
• Experience in researching emerging technologies and evaluating their integration into systems.
• Competence in troubleshooting software and supporting business users.
• Willingness to work in the Colorado Home Office location.
