Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the Excel plugin strategy and integrate AlphaSense's AI-powered market intelligence platform with Microsoft Excel.

• Design and deliver production-ready features for the Excel plugin, ensuring adherence to Excel's performance and stability standards.

• Utilize Excel's object model, calculation engine, and event system to provide a seamless user experience with cloud-based intelligence.

• Enhance complex operations, memory efficiency, and overall plugin performance.

• Participate in and contribute to the development, testing, deployment, and monitoring protocols for Office plugins.

• Assist junior engineers through code reviews and collaborative programming.

• Set up the technical framework and best practices for AlphaSense's Office integration strategy.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in building and managing large-scale production systems.

• In-depth knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript and contemporary development methodologies.

• Strong grasp of asynchronous programming, state management, and event-driven architectures.

• Experience with the deployment of enterprise software, updates, and version control.

• Proven ability to create high-performance applications with robust error handling and recovery mechanisms.

• Expertise in troubleshooting complex integration challenges and optimizing memory and performance.

• Capability to mentor teams and establish best practices in development.

• Preferred: Experience in production with Office JavaScript API, VSTO, or COM add-ins.

• Preferred: Familiarity with Excel's calculation engine, object model, and common advanced user patterns.

• Preferred: Knowledge of financial modeling, data analysis processes, or trading systems.

• Preferred: Experience with React and modern frontend frameworks.
