This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Design and develop a production-ready Excel plugin that incorporates AlphaSense's AI features.
• Utilize Excel's object model, calculation engine, and event system to implement native-like functionalities linked to cloud intelligence.
• Ensure the plugin is compatible with Excel 2016, Excel 2019, and Office 365, including support for corporate proxies, SSO, offline capabilities, and IT constraints.
• Enhance memory usage and performance to prevent any slowdowns in Excel.
• Convert the requirements of financial users into user-friendly interfaces for AI functionalities.
• Establish desktop development protocols and guide engineers on testing, deployment, and monitoring of Office plugins.
• Deliver enhancements to AlphaSense's internal Excel add-in and transition it from legacy systems to AlphaSense's platform.
• Create the technical groundwork and best practices for the Office integration strategy.
• Over 5 years of experience in developing production software, particularly in desktop applications or Office add-ins.
• Extensive knowledge of C#, .NET, and contemporary development methodologies.
• Strong grasp of asynchronous programming, state management, and event-driven architectures.
• Experience with enterprise software deployment, version management, and updates.
• Proven ability to build efficient applications with robust error handling and recovery strategies.
• Expertise in debugging intricate integration challenges and optimizing memory and performance.
• Strong testing philosophy tailored to desktop environments.
• Capability to mentor teams and instill development best practices.
• Production experience with C#, VSTO, or COM add-ins.
• Familiarity with Excel's calculation engine, object model, and typical power-user patterns.
• Knowledge of AWS.
• Understanding of financial modeling, data analysis workflows, or trading systems.
• Experience with web development technologies.
• Familiarity with financial data formats (XLSX, CSV, JSON) and their transformations.
• Background in creating offline-capable applications with synchronization mechanisms.
• Experience with WebSocket, real-time data feeds, or streaming architectures.
