This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Direct the technical strategy by managing project planning, prioritization, and execution.
• Oversee the complete system design and development of large-scale, high-availability services.
• Develop robust APIs and data models suitable for microservice and event-driven architectures.
• Collaborate with teams in Product, Analytics, Design, Legal, and Accounting regarding card loan attribution and lifecycle strategy.
• Examine and resolve complex technical challenges.
• Enhance existing code and promote robust, scalable solutions.
• Mentor junior engineers and support the growth of the team.
• Facilitate technical discussions and conduct design reviews.
• Advocate for best practices through code reviews.
• 5+ years of experience in software development or engineering.
• Profound understanding of system design and architecture.
• An inspiring leader who encourages team development and nurtures continuous learning.
• Exceptional communication skills for articulating complex concepts to diverse audiences.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Expertise in modern programming languages such as Python, Kotlin, or similar.
• Experience with cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL database systems.
• Understanding of web frameworks and RESTful API development.
• Equivalent practical experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Must reside in Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, or Saskatchewan.
