Senior Software Engineer – Application

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Analyze requirements and requests for comments (RFCs) to create effective software designs.

• Engage in shaping the future of satellite systems and associated products focusing on software architecture, infrastructure performance, testing, and reliability.

• Document, design, develop, test, and integrate software functionalities for satellite system components and their environments within an Agile framework.

• Collaborate on design and validation efforts with a multidisciplinary Scrum team comprising software, firmware, embedded, application, and test engineers.

• Diagnose technical issues that arise during software deployment and provide effective solutions.

• Guide and mentor junior team members.

• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in mathematics, engineering, a related field, or equivalent experience.

• A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in programming and software engineering.

• Practical experience in developing, designing, and testing multi-threaded and multi-process applications on the Linux platform.

• Proficient working knowledge of C++.

• In-depth understanding of object-oriented design and programming principles.

• Proven track record of resolving real-time embedded challenges, including threading, optimization, memory management, interrupt handling, and multi-core/multi-CPU environments.

• Familiarity with networking protocols (TCP/IP) and socket programming.

• Strong problem-solving abilities and effective communication skills.

• Capability to operate within a structured development environment while demonstrating potential for technical leadership.

• Aptitude for collaboratively driving technical solutions proactively.

• Solid skills in software design, object-oriented design, and object-oriented programming.

• Proven experience in developing high-quality and maintainable software.

• Strong capabilities in documentation, writing, and presentation.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced development setting.

• Working knowledge of UML is highly desirable.

• Familiarity with professional software engineering practices throughout the software development lifecycle.

• Experience with GDB and Valgrind.

• Familiarity with version control systems such as Git is strongly preferred.

• Experience with Jira and Jenkins is desirable.

• Experience in developing unit, integration, and functional tests, including test automation within a CI/CD pipeline is preferred.

• Skills in shell scripting or Python are desirable.

• Experience or knowledge of satellite/terrestrial communications systems is preferred.

• Understanding of 3GPP standards and 5G architecture is desirable.

• Familiarity with cloud technologies such as AWS/Azure is preferred.
