Senior Software Engineer – Appian Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +8 more states.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and sustain software applications that fulfill business and platform specifications.

• Provide technical solutions and practical development knowledge within a collaborative team setting.

• Play a role in the administration of the Appian platform.

• Leverage extensive technical expertise within the Appian domain.

• Write code that propels significant initiatives in a HIPAA-compliant environment.

• Create and implement software solutions utilizing Appian process models, SAIL interfaces, record types, expression rules, AI features, and reusable components.

• Configure and enhance the Appian platform while resolving technical challenges.

• Build and sustain integrations between Appian and other systems through RESTful services, APIs, and enterprise data sources.

• Assist in workflow and case management solutions based on Appian.

• Assess and apply Appian platform features and updates.

• Advocate for Appian best practices and ensure alignment with engineering standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related discipline.

• Over 4 years of significant, hands-on experience in Appian development.

• 4+ years of experience in designing, developing, and testing software applications and/or infrastructure.

• Experience in creating workflow-driven and case-based applications in medium to large-scale environments.

• Strong understanding of platform security, integrations, and data access patterns.

• Familiarity with regulated environments, including security, compliance, auditability, and reliability.

• Practical experience with Web API development, messaging queues like Kafka, and other Appian integration features.

• Knowledge of Appian SAIL, Records, Data Fabric, and platform deployment processes.

• A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.

• Appian Certified Developer or an equivalent Appian platform certification is preferred.

• Experience with Appian AI capabilities, including AI modeling and automation features, is preferred.

• Familiarity with object-oriented programming languages such as Java, C#, or Python is preferred.

• Development or administrative experience with SQL, relational databases, cloud databases, and data platforms is preferred.

• Knowledge of Databricks, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL is preferred.

• Proficiency in object-oriented design and development methodologies is preferred.

• Experience with Kafka or other enterprise messaging/event-streaming platforms is preferred.

• Minimum home internet speed of 25 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload is required for Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees.

• A dedicated workspace free from ongoing interruptions to safeguard member PHI/HIPAA information is necessary.
