Senior Software Engineer, AI Intelligence Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Design, document, and drive architecture for essential platform components with a focus on scalability, reliability, security, and alignment with business objectives.

• Take ownership of intricate initiatives, overseeing them from architecture and design through development, deployment, and subsequent iterations.

• Convert ambiguous product goals into precise, scalable technical specifications.

• Create a unified, trusted, and high-quality source of Aura's data for generating intelligence.

• Develop secure AI-agent access to sensitive information utilizing least-privilege access, robust isolation, and enforceable privacy guarantees.

• Construct systems that transform intelligence into tailored insights and safety measures for customers and their families.

• Make and justify technology choices that balance scalability, cost, and operational simplicity.

• Advocate for practices surrounding security, privacy, observability, testing, and operational excellence.

• Guide engineers through design challenges, performance optimization, and system reliability.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5 - 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, demonstrating a history of designing and delivering complex, large-scale distributed systems.

• Extensive experience managing systems end-to-end in complex projects, from architecture through to production operation.

• Strong understanding of software design best practices, data structures, algorithms, and the fundamentals of distributed systems.

• Comprehensive knowledge of cloud technologies and the discernment to select suitable tools, including serverless functions, containerized services, relational and NoSQL databases, caches, queues, and data-processing pipelines.

• Proven experience in developing systems that manage sensitive or regulated data, where security and privacy are primary design considerations.

• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, including the capacity to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders and foster cross-team alignment.

• Willingness and eagerness to learn new technologies and adapt swiftly in a rapidly evolving AI landscape.

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

• Preferred: experience in building AI/LLM-powered systems in production, security/privacy engineering or trust & safety, large-scale data platforms, AWS, and Infrastructure as Code.
