Senior Software Development Engineer in Test

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Guide engineers in maintaining quality standards, focusing on Test-Driven Development (TDD) and test design.

• Establish approaches for unit, integration, contract, and end-to-end testing within the team.

• Develop robust automation tools, testing frameworks, and test scripts suitable for production.

• Monitor and analyze metrics such as coverage, test flakiness, execution times, and defect rates.

• Leverage data to prioritize enhancements in quality.

• Utilize artificial intelligence to create tests, pinpoint coverage deficiencies, and expedite quality feedback loops.

• Assist engineers in identifying problems earlier by enhancing design practices, coaching on testability, and providing prompt feedback.

• Spearhead quality initiatives within the team and mentor engineers on effective testing methodologies.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3 - 5+ years of experience as a software engineer or Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET).

• Proficient programming skills in Java, Selenium, Cucumber, Appium, and RestAssured.

• Extensive knowledge of unit, integration, contract, and end-to-end testing techniques.

• Skilled in Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD), Jenkins pipelines, and GitHub Actions.

• Familiar with Java/Spring, Angular/Flutter, AWS, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Datadog, Postman, Bruno, and JMeter.

• Experience with AI tools for generating tests, identifying edge cases, detecting flaky tests, analyzing coverage gaps, and prioritizing tests.

• Proven track record in coaching engineers and evolving team practices.

• Capable of producing clear documentation and operational runbooks.

• Proficient in Spanish.

• Working knowledge of English to facilitate cross-team collaboration.
