Senior Software Development Engineer in Test

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Spearhead the testing strategy for Akamai's proprietary Linux kernel.

• Create, develop, and expand automated testing frameworks to assess hardware compatibility, performance, reliability, and security.

• Generate test suites for innovative hardware designs.

• Assist in migrating Akamai modifications to updated versions of the Linux kernel and virtualization infrastructure software.

• Analyze, isolate, and troubleshoot intricate low-level system issues in both testing and simulated production environments.

• Design and improve the build and test automation infrastructure to support continuous integration and testing.

• Offer technical guidance and establish quality benchmarks.

• Mentor junior team members within the organization.

• Verify feature functionalities and optimize the performance of Akamai's global AI and Compute platform.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8 years of pertinent experience.

• Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification.

• Strong background in scripting languages (Python/Shell/Perl).

• Some experience in software validation using C.

• Knowledge of Linux kernel internals, including hardware drivers (PCIe, GPU hardware, Ethernet devices, KVM, VirtIO, cgroups, memory management, file systems, block I/O, TCP/IP stack).

• Proficiency with x86 and general-purpose/server-class ARM64 architectures.

• Extensive familiarity with Linux kernel and hardware debugging tools.

• Experience in performance benchmarking.

• Familiarity with continuous testing/CI frameworks.

• Proven technical leadership experience.

• Capability to collaborate effectively with others to address complex infrastructure challenges.
