Senior Software Development Engineer in Test

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Design and sustain Akamai's Cloud API along with Cloud Identity Management solutions.

• Create both manual and automated integration as well as system tests.

• Guarantee the quality of APIs and other services provided on Akamai Cloud.

• Ensure the cloud platform is robust, secure, and scalable.

• Evaluate product designs, architecture, and specifications.

• Formulate detailed test plans.

• Conduct functional, load, and performance testing.

• Aid in the development of test automation frameworks and CI/CD pipelines.

• Write automated tests and assess peer automation pull requests.

• Collaborate with globally distributed developers, SDET engineers, architects, and program managers.

• Participate in release readiness decisions and deployment timelines.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• Strong comprehension of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and testing methodologies.

• Over 8 years of experience in developing Python-based automation frameworks and testing REST/Open APIs.

• Practical experience with Unix/Linux environments.

• Understanding of fundamental networking concepts, including HTTP, DNS, and TCP/IP.

• Proficiency in Git, Jira, and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and GitHub Actions.

• Basic skills in MySQL database querying and schema design.

• Experience with Kubernetes, including the deployment, management, scaling, and troubleshooting of containerized applications.
