Senior Software Developer – RPMS, FileMan, M, Cache

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with a diverse team of developers to design, program, deploy, and support clinical applications within the IHS Resource and Patient Management System (RPMS)

• Create, develop, code, test, and debug intricate new software products

• Implement significant improvements to existing software

• Analyze, develop, and suggest technical solutions for client needs and moderately complex application design challenges

• Take into account network platform and system security requirements during application design

• Assist in ensuring application user interface accessibility requirements are met using best-practice and industry-standard methods

• Contribute to technical documentation, user manuals, system documentation, and training materials

• Diagnose complex issues and provide customer support for clinical applications within the IHS RPMS system

• Offer insights to testers to confirm software modifications

• Compile reports on analyses, findings, and project advancements

• Keep up-to-date with relevant technologies

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

• Over 8 years of Software Development experience in FileMan/M/Cache

• General experience in information system requirements analysis, system design, implementation, and testing

• Capable of transforming design artifacts into functional code

• At least 3 years of experience in the healthcare industry (preferred)

• Advanced understanding of the VA and IHS environments, RPMS, CPRS, or legacy VISTA (preferred)

• Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team, adapting to shifting priorities and deadlines (preferred)

• Familiarity with Agile processes and the associated QA lifecycle (preferred)

• Demonstrated ability to function effectively in a remote/distributed team (preferred)

• Working knowledge of Team Foundation Server and/or Azure DevOps (preferred)

• Must be able to secure an appropriate level of Public Trust, necessitating residence in the U.S. for 3 of the past 5 years
