Senior Software Developer, AI Agents

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Develop and expand the AI-agent framework that powers Knak’s enterprise email and landing-page platform.

• Create and implement the foundational Python agent runtime, encompassing orchestration loops, tool definitions and execution, memory and context management, structured outputs, and failure resolution.

• Construct and sustain evaluation datasets, automated evaluators, and LangSmith LLM-as-judge pipelines.

• Identify agent failures, optimize prompts and tool designs, and conduct model comparisons and benchmarks.

• Develop Python and Node.js AI microservices for agent hosting and interaction with LLMs.

• Create and manage Laravel (PHP) APIs that integrate agents into the Knak platform.

• Leverage AWS services, including Lambda, Bedrock, and CDN delivery, to establish secure, scalable infrastructure.

• Optimize MySQL queries and indexing.

• Lead and engage in code reviews.

• Collaborate with product, design, QA, and DevOps teams.

• Mentor engineers on agent development and evaluation methodologies.

• Contribute to architectural decisions and work closely with engineering and product teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of experience in backend software development.

• Practical experience in building LLM-powered agents in production environments, including tool invocation, orchestration, context management, and prompt engineering.

• Background in designing and executing evaluations for LLM systems, such as dataset curation, automated evaluators, LLM-as-judge, and regression tracking.

• Strong expertise in Python, Node.js, and MySQL.

• Proficiency in RESTful APIs, TDD, and CI/CD practices utilizing GitHub Actions.

• Familiarity with SaaS architecture, microservices, and AWS services.

• Knowledge of observability, performance optimization, and scalability principles.

• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
