Senior Sensors / Vision Hardware Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in China.

📋 Description

• Create cost-efficient sensing technologies tailored to specific challenges.

• Design, construct, evaluate, and analyze sensing systems.

• Develop and refine sensing algorithms to enhance product features.

• Collaborate with electronic, mechanical, embedded software, and testing teams to integrate sensing systems.

• Ensure that product and system specifications are completely fulfilled.

• Guide designs from initial concept through development and into production.

• Coordinate with external suppliers and partners regarding Dyson product specifications.

• Address complex issues using innovative solutions.

• Gather requirements and choose suitable sensing and actuating technologies in collaboration with product owners.

• Navigate designs through Dyson's design process and engage in design evaluations.

• Inspire and mentor both graduate and regular engineers.

⛳️ Requirements

• A degree in a relevant field, such as Electronics Engineering or Physics.

• A minimum of 2–3 years of experience in the design, implementation, testing, analysis, and characterization of commercial sensors.

• Proficiency with sensors including IMU, magnetic, pressure, Hall-effect, photo optic, and thermal sensors.

• Familiarity with camera and ISP tuning is a plus.

• Experience in quantitative and statistical data analysis using Matlab or Python for developing sensing algorithms.

• Knowledge of analogue signal conditioning and digital processing design techniques.

• Proficient in using hardware lab equipment.

• Experience in schematic/layout design and review is advantageous.

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with relevant tools.

• Familiarity with end-of-line calibration equipment and testing instruments.

• A solid understanding and appreciation of quality engineering processes.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills suitable for both executive levels and regular engineers.
