Senior Security Engineer – Product Security

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Integrate security throughout the software development lifecycle: engage in threat modeling, conduct secure design reviews, and provide secure-coding guidance that engineers genuinely implement.

• Take ownership of application security testing, including code reviews, SAST/DAST, and issue triage, focusing on driving resolution rather than merely documenting problems.

• Strengthen our software supply chain by ensuring dependency verification, managing dependencies safely, and securing the CI/CD pipeline.

• Develop and automate security tools and guardrails to ensure that security evolves alongside engineering rather than in opposition to it.

• Act as the internal security Subject Matter Expert (SME) on product and workflow decisions, as well as an early adopter of our solutions.

• Collaborate with all teams on architecture and design to ensure that security is embedded as a fundamental aspect rather than an afterthought.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of comprehensive security engineering experience in product/application security, maintaining the highest standards of Trust.

• A strong hands-on engineer who produces and automates rather than solely managing processes.

• Proficient in software engineering; capable of working across the stack (e.g., Python, Go, Typescript, or similar languages).

• Expertise in application/product security, including secure SDLC, threat modeling, code scanning, and supply-chain/dependency security.

• Knowledgeable about the current AI landscape and its implications for security, staying informed about this rapidly evolving field.

• Versatile in approach: strategic when necessary, and detail-oriented when required.

• Comfortable assuming the role of an early security hire in a startup environment, embracing high ownership, ambiguity, and direct impact.
