Senior Security Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.

📋 Description

• Develop and enhance Zepto's product security methodologies.

• Mentor Engineering teams and work collaboratively to ensure that software development life cycles adhere to security best practices.

• Create, develop, and sustain high-quality security tools, automation processes, and paved-road controls.

• Perform security evaluations and architecture assessments of applications and services.

• Integrate into project teams to evaluate information security risks and prioritize security measures.

• Collaborate with the Security Engineering Lead, Product, and Engineering teams to establish and document security architecture and practices.

• Facilitate Zepto's embrace of AI and agentic systems.

• Experiment with AI tools to enhance the operations of the Security team.

• Assist in managing application security incidents alongside the Security team.

• Partner with the Security Engineering Lead to formulate Zepto's product security strategy and approach.

• Offer consultative and advisory support and create self-service capabilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficiency in reading and writing production-level code, as well as building tools and automation.

• A solid foundation in software engineering; preference for Go and/or Python, though engineers proficient in any language are welcome.

• Experience in implementing and maintaining standard application security tools.

• Practical experience in automating security controls.

• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS.

• Demonstrated experience advising engineering teams on best practices for security architecture.

• Active engagement in experimentation with, or a demonstrated interest in, AI and agentic technologies.

• Enthusiasm for securing AI and agentic systems.

• Excellent and empathetic communication skills with both technical and non-technical teams.

• Long-term, permanent residency in Australia: Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
