Field Security Advisor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia.

📋 Description

• Conduct cyber extortion readiness engagements for enterprise clients under retention agreements, which include executive briefings, technical workshops, and cross-departmental training sessions.

• Design and facilitate tabletop exercises that simulate realistic cyber extortion scenarios, operational disruptions, ambiguous initial facts, and executive decision-making points.

• Continuously curate and enhance customer-facing playbooks, decision frameworks, readiness checklists, and workshop materials.

• Perform research and forensic data analysis to bolster advisory deliverables and provide customer insights.

• Distill lessons learned from case trends and convert forensic outputs and artifacts into actionable readiness recommendations.

• Assist with customer due diligence inquiries, RFP/RFI questionnaires, and reviews of contracts/security exhibits in collaboration with internal stakeholders.

• Work with case management, subject-matter experts, and other stakeholders to ensure readiness guidance is informed by real-world incident behaviors and recovery constraints.

• Report directly to the Senior Director, Field CISO within the Cyber Readiness and Advisory Services team as an individual contributor.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in information security/cybersecurity.

• Expertise in incident response/DFIR, security operations, or cyber risk/security advisory/consulting.

• More than 3 years of customer-facing experience supporting B2B enterprise clients in advisory, incident readiness, cybersecurity, technology, or forensic-related services.

• Foundational understanding of application, identity, cloud, and network security concepts.

• Familiarity with incident response best practices.

• Experience in consultative presentations to enterprise leadership.

• Skilled in facilitating educational workshops and tabletop exercises.

• Ability to clearly and authoritatively communicate complex topics to diverse audiences, both orally and in writing.

• Willingness and capacity to travel periodically for customer meetings, workshops, events, and on-site engagements.

• Capable of leading discussions with technical and executive stakeholders within enterprises.

• Strong skills in structured problem framing, facilitation, communication, and recommendations.

• Excellent listening, written communication, and verbal communication skills.

• Proficient structured writing skills with experience in producing executive-ready, evidence-based deliverables.

• Bonus: valid information security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, CCSP, GCIH, GCFE, or GCFA.

• Bonus: Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

• Bonus: experience in translating forensic findings and incident insights into executive-ready narratives.

• Bonus: familiarity with MITRE ATT&CK, NIST CSF, and CIS Controls.
