Senior Security Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Hungary, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Oversee and investigate security alerts across cloud, identity, endpoint, and network environments.

• Analyze logs and activities from AWS, GCP, Active Directory, Linux systems, Windows systems, and various security tools.

• Assist in incident response by collecting evidence, confirming suspicious activities, and documenting findings.

• Develop scripts to automate repetitive security tasks, log analysis, reporting, or data enrichment.

• Contribute to security assessments that encompass IAM, storage exposure, compute workloads, and network configurations.

• Examine authentication activities, user behaviors, privilege changes, and potential account breaches.

• Collaborate with internal teams to comprehend systems, identify risks, and aid in remediation, compliance, and auditing processes.

• Provide after-hours incident response for critical security events.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience in security operations, incident response, systems administration, cloud operations, or a comparable technical role.

• Knowledge of cloud security principles, services, logs, and IAM.

• Proficient scripting skills, ideally in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.

• Familiarity with SIEM platforms such as Splunk, Chronicle, Sentinel, or similar tools.

• Practical knowledge of Linux and Windows systems, including command line usage, permissions, processes, and logs.

• Basic to intermediate understanding of Active Directory, covering users, groups, authentication, and privilege changes.

• Capability to read and interpret logs from cloud platforms, operating systems, and security tools.

• Insight into phishing, credential compromise, privilege escalation, lateral movement, and exposed services.

• Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication abilities.

• Hands-on experience utilizing scripts to address operational or security challenges.

• Comfortable operating in cloud and Linux command-line environments.

• Candidates must be available for after-hours incident response.

• Practical exercise required during the interview process.

• Experience with Google Cloud Platform security, Kubernetes/containers, and security monitoring automation is preferred.
